Suck numero seis
In this week’s show the agenda was originally for me and Dawg to try tequilas and tell you about them. Life happens and neither of us felt like going to buy a bunch of alcohol to get drunk during a weeknight and Dawg is on call this week so it’d really be bad form to answer the phone “TEQUILA!” if work called, so at the last minute I decided we’d discuss road trips!
Route 66
- The Mother Road: Historic Route 66
- General Route 66 travel information
- Route 66 trip planner
- Beer along Route 66
Santa Fe Trail
Other New Mexico Scenic Drives are recommended here.
Drinks of the week
Alcohol-laden: Route 66
* 1 part Absinthe
* 1 part Irish Cream (Bailey’s)
* 1 part Kahlua
* 1 pinch CinnamonIn a shot glass: Layer Kahlua, Bailey’s and then absinthe. Light on fire, and then sprinkle cinnamon over the top (it will flame and sparkle, about 1/2 meter in height). Blow out and then drink though a straw.
Non-alcoholic suggestion: Route 66 root beer
And also, the most important decision of all: BEERHER. Ok, so nothing is there quite yet, but the night before TequilaCon prepare to get your BEER on. We will find a nice spot in or around Santa Fe Brewing Company and drink a bunch of beer. Bikinis are optional. More details to come!

What truly endeared my to this brewery was their special brew known as Chicken Killer Barley Wine. With a 10.0 Alcohol, this brew is temptation in a bottle waiting to be guzzled. What really intrigues me about it is that it is billed as a Barley Wine. I have never had the chance to partake in such a beverage, but I am more than eager to try it. Besides, with a name like Chicken Killer, how can you go wrong?
