About
Lick Slam Suck is the Officially Unauthorized And Unofficial Blog And PodCast about TequilaCon.
What Is TequilaCon?
TequilaCon is an annual gathering of bloggers for a night of fun and fellowship. Despite the name, drinking Tequila is NOT a requirement for attendees. The meeting generally does take place where copious amounts of social lubrication (alcohol) can be found for those who do wish to partake.
The History Of TequilaCon
To understand the history of TequilaCon, one must understand that it is in fact headed up by Jenny from Run Jen Run… also reportedly known as “High Priestess of Many Goats“. Seeing as how this is the Officially Unauthorized And Unofficial TequilaCon Blog, it makes sense to point you to all things Officially TequilaCon.
Now for the rich history lesson:
- TequilaCon 2005 in Chicago, Illinois: This inaugural event was organized by Jenny for the sole and selfish purpose of meeting other bloggers. Little did she know that this social experiment of hers would continue annually.
- TequilaCon 2006 in New York City, New York: This second event was bigger than the first, and is the first known recorded TequilaCon where tattoos were made readily available. There was also something about candy coated worms… but I felt a little queasy to dig deeper. Only the finest reporting for you all!
- TequilaCon 2007 in Portland, Oregon: This third event featured the use of VIB Passes to help identify bloggers to each other, and away from the general public. Tattoos had become the norm, and the city itself made a huge contribution to the event.
- TequilaCon 2008 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania: There in the city of Brotherly Love did the bloggers meet, eat, drink, and be merry in one of the hippest and coolest bowling alley’s eva. Seriously. The tattoo tradition returned as did the lanyards, and with the free flowing social lubrication everyone had a fantastic time… from what they could remember.
- TequilaCon 2009 in Santa Fe, New Mexico: The fifth annual event is slowly building to a very exciting climax…
